Compliance

Using business data responsibly.

This is practical guidance, not legal advice. You are the data controller for your own marketing, and you decide how the data we supply is used.

What we supply

Business-level information: company identity, trading location, published business contact points and observable signals such as website status. We do not supply consumer data, personal home addresses or private mobile numbers belonging to individuals in a personal capacity.

Email marketing under PECR

  • Marketing email to corporate subscribers, meaning limited companies, LLPs and public bodies, is generally permitted without prior consent.
  • Sole traders and unincorporated partnerships are treated as individuals, so you need consent or a soft opt-in.
  • Every message must identify you and include a working, free opt-out.
  • Honour opt-outs promptly and keep a suppression list of everyone who opts out.

Telephone marketing

  • Screen numbers against the TPS and CTPS before calling, and re-screen regularly for ongoing campaigns.
  • Do not call any business that has told you not to call it, even if the number is not registered.
  • Display a valid caller line identity.

Your record keeping

Keep the invoice, field selection and source notes we provide with each order. Together with your own campaign records and opt-out log, that is normally what a regulator or a recipient asking where you got my details would expect to see.

What you may not do with our data

  • Resell, redistribute or publish the data as a dataset.
  • Use it for unlawful, deceptive or nuisance communications.
  • Attempt to combine it with other sources to profile individuals.
